06 September 2024
The Sustainable Development Goals Initiative (SDGi) embarked on a week-long learning excursion to Germany, engaging with leading organizations to strengthen evidence-based policy-making and multi-stakeholder partnerships. This collaboration aims to drive impactful sustainable development progress.

The Sustainable Development Goals Initiative undertook a significant learning excursion to Germany, aiming to deepen its engagement with key stakeholders in the realm of evidence-based policy for sustainable development. During this week-long journey, representatives from SDGI met with prominent organisations, including the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS), the Research Service of the German Parliament, and the German Council for Sustainable Development.

The primary objective of this excursion was to deepen understanding of evidence-based policy-making and to explore the dynamics of multi-stakeholder partnerships essential for advancing SDGI’s objectives. One of the highlights of the excursion was the visit to the Research Service in the German Parliament, where participants delved into the Research Service’s role as a think tank for parliamentarians, particularly in terms of its oversight responsibilities and contributions to legislative processes.

The learning excursion not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also fostered collaboration among participants, providing valuable insights and strengthened partnerships crucial for advancing the impact of the initiative.
